GIMP 2.4 on CentOS 5

April 25, 2009 by hejian

GIMP 2.4 has a important feature, which seleciton tools allow resizing of existing selections. The GIMP 2.2 in CentOS 5 does not have this version. So I have to upgrade it.

The simplest way to upgrade the GIMP is to compile and install the gimp-2.4.5-1.fc7.src.rpm which provided by Fedora 7. And also need upgrade these packages which needed by gimp-2.4.5-fc7.src.rpm:
gtk2-2.10.14-4.fc7.src.rpm
pygtk2-2.10.6-1.fc7.src.rpm
libexif-0.6.15-3.fc7.src.rpm
